“Moajzey” (Miracles), written by Haya Noor, is a deeply emotional and reflective short story that explores the power of faith, patience, and the reality of miracles during times of intense personal and financial hardship.
Moajzey The narrative centers on a young female writer who sits awake late at night, overwhelmed by the darkness and trials surrounding her family. Her parents are her entire world, but financial struggles and severe health crises plague their lives. Her mother falls critically ill with a stomach condition requiring urgent surgery. Amidst a lack of funds and a desperate situation, timely help arrives, and the operation succeeds just in time, saving her mother’s life.
Just as they begin to recover, her father, the family’s protective shadow, is diagnosed with an enlarged heart, raising fears of a dangerous and costly operation. Consumed by worry, sleepless nights, and the paralyzing fear of losing her father, the protagonist turns entirely to prayer and unwavering trust in Allah. Miraculously, her father recovers without needing surgery.
Reflecting on these profound tests, the protagonist realizes that true hardships teach the soul patience, draw a person closer to the Creator, and pale in comparison to the trials faced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). She concludes that miracles do happen—not by chance, but through absolute faith in Allah.
