The insult is overheard by the aunt and her daughters, causing severe emotional distress and embarrassment to the entire family.
While Humaira walks away with no remorse, Shah Mir proves his emotional maturity. Instead of creating a family feud, he requests his mother to send a proposal for the younger sister, Areeba. Areeba gladly accepts, recognizing Shah Mir’s gold-like heart. They get married and step into a life full of mutual respect, trust, and happiness.
Shortly after, Humaira gets a proposal from Hamid. Hamid is the textbook definition of a handsome, desirable bachelor—fair-skinned, extremely attractive, and well-settled in a high-paying corporate job. Blinded by his outer appearance, Humaira immediately consents, believing she has won the ultimate prize in life.
The narrative takes a dark turn post-marriage. Hamid turns out to be a highly insecure, suspicious (شکی مزاج), and controlling psychopath. He slowly cuts off Humaira from her parents and siblings. In a heartbreaking scene, he snatches her mobile phone away, declaring that women should not have personal phones as they get spoiled easily. Humaira is confined within the four walls of her home, becoming a severe psychological patient.
The emotional peak occurs when Areeba visits Humaira’s house during the morning hours to avoid Hamid. Humaira breaks down in tears, hugging her younger sister.
